I had a right hip replacement on 16th September 2021 and within a week I was able to walk two miles a day using crutches and virtually pain free. Six weeks later, I still use a crutch around the park but for shorter distances am comfortable walking without an aid. This is all down to the skill of my surgeon, Sean Masterson. He is an inspired professional, quiet and efficient. The operation went without a hitch and I was discharged after two days. I was totally impressed by his craftsmanship in the sewing up of my wound; it's virtually seamless and is hardly visible now - not even the tiniest bruise and best of all the pain is gone. I will be ever grateful to Mr Masterson, the Physiotherapist Megan Beckford, Nurses and support staff at Spire. Keep up the good work National Health.

Doctors can sometimes distant and uninvolved on a personal level, but this is not the case with Mr Sean Masterson. A professional approach to your needs with a personal connection that sets you at ease. Initial referral was for a total left hip replacement that had become very painful after years of sport and which had deteriorated to such an extent that every aspect of daily life had become a painful chore, even sleeping. Following surgery, which went perfectly, I now find myself needing to have the right hip replaced. My first though was to get this done by Mr Masterson, having had such a great result with my left hip. Fortunately, this is looking possible and, as I am now added to his waiting list, should be possible in the near future? Over the years, I have become comfortable with the thought and anxiety of pending surgery, and I feel confident that I will get the best possible outcome with this surgeon. I feel fortunate that I am able to get this procedure done on the NHS, and at a hospital, and with the surgeon of choice, in a relatively short timeframe, despite the pressures on the NHS due to the Covid pandemic.

Mr Masterson is an outstanding surgeon and has enabled me to be independent walking after previously being on crutches permanently for nearly 5 years. I have an annual review now and at my last appointment I was doing "better than expected". Thank you to Mr Masterson (and team) for keeping me on my feet - literally because I would not be walking without you.

Sean Masterson is a superb Doctor/Surgeon . He has replaced both my knees in the past 15 months. He has a fabulous way about him, he listens to you and actually takes on board your concerns. I can honestly say I trust him implicitly. He is a very genuine man and my No1 doctor. Wonderful human being

I had a total hip replacement on 29th October 2020. I as operated on by Mr Sean Masterson. I have to say he was superb.i have put this off for quite a few years as I was frightened. From the very first appointment he has been extremely understanding and patient with me. He has always listened to my concerns and helped me work through them.his bedside manner is superb. I couldn't have been in better hands.
